Microwave: Ever heat up a bowl of pasta and tomato sauce for too long and realize your microwave interior is now a red splattered Jackson Pollock painting? Next, two choices immediately pop into your head: 1.) Put the food down and clean the microwave interior thoroughly or B.) Devour that amazingly delicious pasta dish. Chances are you will splurge on the food and get back to “cleaning the microwave later”. Quite often, you will forget to clean it later. Let’s face it; your work schedule is busy and you just simply can’t find time to spend cleaning up your office kitchen. It is very important to clean your facility’s microwave because it could be contaminated with dirty food stains. The longer you wait to clean your microwave’s interior, the tougher the stains will be to remove.
Apple Corps’ Cleaning Tip: STEAM! Here’s how our professional office cleaners do it: Place a damp paper towel in the microwave for one minute. Allow the towel to cool down for a few seconds. Using the same paper towel, wipe down the interior of your microwave. Make sure to clean all areas of the microwave: Ceiling, sides, plate, base and inside the door. Wipe and dry with a clean paper towel. Clean your microwave on a weekly basis.

Restroom Sinks: Your restroom sink can contain more germs than a toilet seat lid. Have you ever placed your purse or bag on the floor next to the toilet? Then, you pick up your bag, walk to the sink, place the bag onto the sink counter and wash your hands? Every germ that you picked up from that bathroom floor surface has now been exposed to the sink surfaces. Not to mention, water and soap may leak behind the faucet causing mold and mildew build up. Sinks can be dirtier than you think.
Apple Corps’ Cleaning Tip: WASH, SCRUB AND DISINFECT! Wipe all bathroom countertops with a damp cloth and cleaner. Remove soap bottles, paper towel racks, etc. to hit all countertop surfaces. Clean the tops, sides and behind the faucet area. Next, scrub the interior of your sink with an Ajax or a similar product to really get a deep clean of the sink. Rinse with water. Then, dry with a clean towel. Disinfect the faucet and handles (Lysol can do the trick). Finish your cleaning with a nice polishing of the faucet. Rub a dab of baby oil on the stainless steel for a great shine.

Ceiling Fans and Vents: Some offices may have ceiling fans and vents throughout the facility. Dust and dirt love to settle on these surfaces. Before you know it, they will eventually accumulate a thick pile up of dust. What is dust? Dust is made up of dirt, dead skin, human/animal hair, bugs, food particles and more…GROSS! Vents blow air and ceiling fans create wind gusts. Thus, inevitably circulating that nasty dust and dirt throughout your office. Maintaining clean ceiling fans and vents will prevent your employees from getting sick.
Apple Corps’ Cleaning Tip: Dust these high surfaces at least once a month. A feather duster can help with hard to reach spots. Try using a step ladder to gain some height. Also, microfiber cloths work great for dusting.

Entranceway/ Foyer Doors: The doors are the gateway to your business. Make an amazing first impression to your new and existing customers. Take pride and show professionalism with a clean office. Fingerprint smudges and stains can appear on your door surfaces throughout the day. Depending upon the amount of traffic you have coming thru, you may be prone to more of these noticeable stains.
Apple Corps’ Cleaning Tip: Do you have glass doors in your office foyer? Here are a few tools that you need: Dawn dish soap, bucket of water, absorbent cloth, squeegee and a scrub pad. Squirt a few drops of dish soap into the bucket of water. Dip the scrub pad into the bucket, squeeze out excess water out of the pad and scrub the glass in a circular motion (tackle those dirty spots). Make sure you clean the entire glass surface. Next, squeegee the glass door from top to bottom. Wipe off the blade of the squeegee with a clean cloth after each swipe. Last, wipe the edges with the clean absorbent cloth. The power of the Dawn dish soap is amazing! Your office glass doors will be crystal clear clean.

Carpets: Foot traffic throughout your office tends to lead to very dirty carpets. Carpets even have germs and organisms living in them. Between all the foods, dirt, dust and everything that our shoes track in- it’s not surprising! Experts have proven that shoes can pick up nine different types of bacteria. Some of those bacteria are the same found in animal waste. The more we walk around, the more germs and bacteria our shoes collect. Your carpets are accumulating everything that’s living on your shoe soles.
Apple Corps’ Cleaning Tip: Make sure to have a professional janitorial service clean your carpets at least once a year. Not only will a carpet cleaning make your carpets look and smell nice, it will also prevent you from having to replace them due to damage in the future. Our expert carpet cleaners have the right tools and cleaning solutions to transform your dirty carpets to beautiful floor surfaces. On top of a professional carpet cleaning, make sure to take care of your carpets on a weekly basis. This includes vacuuming at least once a week. Also, spot clean all stains and spills that may have occurred during the work week.
